Transition to iPad Gen 11

Q1. Why is there a delay in getting the iPad?

A1. With Apple’s announcement of the iPad 11 on 4 Mar and the official market release on 12 Mar, Apple has stopped production of iPad 10 with immediate effect, and the remaining stock is not sufficient to cater to the Junior Colleges.  As such there is a need for Junior Colleges to transit to the iPad 11. 

 

Q2. Why did the Ministry not order the iPad 11 stock earlier?

A2. This is not possible as Apple does not disclose their product timeline and schedule with any external organisations.  The Ministry, and our Contractor will only receive information on new product lines and end-of-production together with the global release announcement.

 

Q3. Why does the contractor not stock up more iPad 10?

A3. It is not ideal for the contractor to bring in excessive stock because of the following:

 

 

Q4. When can we receive the iPad 11?

A4. The stock for the iPad 11 is tentatively expected to arrive in Singapore end of April and available for delivery in early May 2025.  This is subjected to Apple’s date of announcement of the educational pricing, as well as the technical evaluation of the iPad 11.  We will endeavour to facilitate schools to receive the iPad 11 at the earliest possible date.

 

Q5. How much is the iPad 11?

A5. We are currently waiting for Apple to announce the educational pricing for the iPad 11.  We anticipate that the price will be close to the current iPad 10 price.  However, the iPad 11 will have the following enhancements:

1 to 1 Exchange within 7 days from unboxing

If you found manufacturing defects (not software) within 7 calendar days from unboxing, you may get an 1-to-1 exchange.

If it is not valid for an 1-to-1 exchange, kindly refer to the "Device Repair Process or Insurance Claim Process".

After Apple Service Centre receives the device and performs diagnostic test on the device

Otherwise, if it is within insurance coverage, Apple Service Centre will advise if it is a repair or replacement.

    If not within insurance coverage, you will decide whether to pay the quoted repair fee.
